For this project, our studio faced the challenge of creating different types of chewing gum simulations, combining fluids, particle dynamics, and Vellum in Houdini to represent various textures and behaviors.
One of the biggest challenges was developing the expansion effect of the gum completely covering the characters, achieving a result similar to Venom, with an organic and controlled spread.
For the final chewing gum statue, we scanned the characters on set and then sculpted over the scanned base to achieve the level of detail and style the piece required. We also supervised the shoot to ensure an optimal scan and facilitate the integration of the effects.

The project had very tight deadlines, which forced us to optimize both the simulations and the overall workflow to achieve the expected visual quality within the available time.
